Coronation Street has confirmed heart-wrenching scenes for Gail Platt in the upcoming episodes of the ITV soap, as she potentially suffers a heart attack.
Images reveal the distressing moment when an overwhelmed Gail is left in excruciating pain and fearing for her life. Following a dispute with her family over her intentions to sell their house, she’s seen gripping her arm in discomfort.
Finding it hard to breathe, Gail will be hurriedly taken to hospital as her new romantic interest Jesse Chadwick summons an ambulance. As he supports her, Jesse rushes to assist while her anxious children regret putting strain on her.

However, will Gail pull through amid her impending departure from the series? Fans had been apprehensive that Gail would be written out, as actress Helen Worth resigned from the role after a 50-year tenure earlier this year, reports the Mirror.
With rumours swirling that Jesse may not have genuine intentions, will Gail’s dreams of starting anew be shattered? Spoilers for the forthcoming week disclose that a heated argument erupts between Jesse and Gail’s children, David and Sarah Platt.
Gail reaches her limit and lashes out at them, urging her children to leave the house. As the situation becomes too overwhelming for her, her health takes a severe downturn.
Sarah and David suspect Jesse of having ulterior motives and possibly targeting Gail’s wealth. However, they are compelled to set aside their worries next week when their mother falls ill.

An ambulance soon arrives and the paramedics examine Gail. They decide she needs to be taken to hospital, and she’s whisked away in the ambulance.
Sarah and David learn about the incident and rush home in a panic, only to see their mother being carted off, with Jesse also present. The siblings blame themselves for instigating the argument with Jesse, but is this the conclusion of the family turmoil?
Is Gail going to be alright or is there a shocking health twist looming before her departure? This comes as Helen discussed her exit and her choice to leave after five decades.
She declared: “”This year felt like the perfect time to leave the show after celebrating 50 years in the most wonderful job on the most wonderful street in the world. I made the decision at the start of the year and spoke to the producers who were very kind and understanding.
“I have been truly blessed to have been given the most incredible scripts week in week out, and to have worked with fantastic actors, directors and a brilliant crew. The past 50 years have flown by and I don’t think the fact that I am leaving has quite sunk in yet.”
Recently, it was suggested that Gail was gearing up for another wedding before her final exit from the show. The Mirror exclusively disclosed that Gail was preparing to walk down the aisle, but will it be a fairy-tale ending for the icon?
It’s been spilled that the wedding scenes are currently being shot on the Manchester set, but fans will be biting their nails to find out if the Corrie icon actually gets hitched. A sneaky source revealed: “Helen and Gail have been part of the fabric of Coronation Street since 1974, so only a truly big exit storyline would be fitting for her.”
“The wedding scenes are being filmed at the moment and when they air, viewers will be gripped. As with any soap wedding, they will have to wait to see whether Gail makes it down the aisle or not. And with a character as popular as her, they will be hoping she finally gets a happy ending.”
