Liam Payne hotel guest heard ‘screams, violent noises and banging’ from room

Hotel guests heard “loud violent noises” before Liam Payne’s death.

People reported a “loud” and “violent” ruckus from his Buenos Aires accommodation. The 31 year old pop icon took a horrific tumble from the third-floor balcony of Casa Sur Hotel shortly past 5pm local time on 16 September.

The ‘Strip That Down’ singer had embarked on a tript to Argentina with girlfriend Kate Cassidy, eager to catch former bandmate Niall Horan perform live. Over a week post-gig, tragedy struck as Payne fell from a third floor balcony and plummeted a shocking 14 metres onto the hotel’s inner courtyard.

Before the heartbreaking episode unfolded, a frantic call dialed in from the hotel with claims of an inebriated guest “intoxicated by drugs and alcohol trashing the room”. Tensions soared higher when BBC got wind of a narrative from a fellow lodger, Doug Jones, who remarked: “I thought they were working on the room. There was a lot of noise, like heavy lifting, like banging. A lot of loud, violent noises, I thought.”

Jones then caught a glimpse of staff scuttling about Payne’s presumed suite adding: “I saw hotel people going in and out of that room, so I thought they were doing work on the room.”

But the commotion resumed, Jones shared: “So about 4pm, 4.30pm, I started hearing some more noise, I was still doing work,” he disclosed. “I heard a really loud, violent scream around 4.45pm, 5pm,” reports the Mirror.

The cops rocked up just shy of 5pm, only to be greeted by a massive bang echoing from the courtyard. Moments later, a gobsmacked tourist clocked the “road full of cops,” as the grim reality of horror started to kick in.

Spilling the beans to TN, the local ambulance boss said: “At 17.04 through the 911 integrated public safety system, we were alerted of a person who was in an internal courtyard of the management of a south house hotel.”

He added: “There is an internal courtyard where the victim fell, with tables and chairs: the hotel’s confectionery shop operates there. The space has a retractable roof that was open at the time. Fortunately, there were no other people there.”
