Former One Direction heartthrob Liam Payne tragically plummeted to his death in Argentina after reported last messages were exchanged with a mate.
The 31-year-old singer was confirmed dead following a horror plunge from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires on Wednesday. Prior to the fatal fall, a close buddy named Jodie has come forward stating he sent her a snapshot moments before his untimely demise.
Jodie alleged that the ‘Strip That Down’ singer sent over a photo of himself looking weary in his Argentinian lodgings. She recalled Liam hitting her up on Monday, curious about her day; she replied that she was at the gym with her lad, to which he responded simply: “Nice”.

He’s said then to have shared a chilling self-portrait from his hotel, hand to forehead, to which she responded: “Sorry just home x.”
As per The Sun, Liam reached out again on Wednesday morning, buzzing to check if Jodie was up. After she got back to him around 8am, they chatted briefly and he mentioned he was just “chilling” in South America, reports the Mirror.
Only hours later, news broke that the pop sensation had taken a fatal tumble from the third level of a hotel balcony. The scene outside the accommodation was swarming with cops, fire engines and paramedics after the disastrous accident.
It is understood police received a call regarding a man behaving wildly at the premises who may have been intoxicated or high. A body was discovered in the internal courtyard of a hotel, leading to the police being alerted by the hotel manager. It’s believed that Liam plummeted from a height of around 13 or 14 metres, sustaining “very serious injuries incompatible with life.”
The local ambulance manager stated to TN: “At 17.04 through the 911 integrated public safety system, we were alerted of a person who was in an internal courtyard of the management of a south house hotel.”
“The victim fell into an internal courtyard furnished with tables and chairs, where the hotel’s confectionery shop is located. The area has a retractable roof which was open at the time. Luckily, there were no other individuals present,” sources involved in the case revealed.
