Liam Payne ‘offered woman £15,000’ in cash row just before he plunged to death

Liam Payne reportedly offered a woman £15,000 during an argument about cash before his death.

The pop sensation, aged just 31, fell from the third-floor balcony straight down into the courtyard of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires on Wednesday.

The head of reception at the Casa Sur Hotel reportedly made frantic 911 calls begging for help, revealing a guest was on drugs and was wrecking havoc in his room. According to LA NACION, Liam spiralled out of control in the hotel lobby, where guests said he looked “visibly out of his mind”.

Shortly after, Liam toppled from the balcony and died instantly, as per eyewitnesses.

One guest, called Michael Fleischmann, claimed Liam seemed a “little wild” while arguing with a mystery woman about money just before he died.

According to the American, he overheard Liam saying to the woman: “I’ll give you $20,000 (£15,311) dollars just because I can. I have $55 million and I like to help people.”

He added that the woman spoke in Spanish with the hotel manager translating the conversation to Liam at around 2pm local time.

Speaking to the Buenos Aires Herald, Fleischmann only realised that the man “with an English accent who seemed to be causing a disturbance” in the hotel lobby was the One Direction singer after news broke of his death. Fleischmann said that the singer seemed “very upset, agitated, a little wild, walking around and pacing” while also being “very energised”.

Another hotel guest, who goes by the name Rebecca (not her real name), told MailOnline that he confessed to her “I’m so f***ed up” during a half-hour chat with him. In an interview, Rebecca described Liam’s “bizarre” final moments as unsettling.

She shared how he “wanted to get recognised” while in the lobby.

He left but later returned to the lobby with a laptop in hand and began reading emails in public view. Rebecca remembered seeing the singer opening an email that “obviously upset him”.

“Suddenly he took the computer, shouted ‘f**k this s**t mate’ and started bashing the computer on the ground,” she added.

According to Rebecca, staff and guests inside the luxury hotel were genuinely shocked so she went over to check if the distressed star was ok. “But he just kind of grunted,” was Liam’s response to her concern, Rebecca said.

“Then he said ‘I used to be in a boyband. That’s why I’m so f**ked up’.”
