Alexandra Burke has opened up about living with a hidden health battle.
The X Factor legend, 36, has previously been candid with fans about suffering from IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and the consequences of that. Luckily for Alexandra, she has since managed to cure her symptoms after shedding her “unhealthy habits”.
Alex spoke exclusively to Daily Star as she opened up about her health journey and said: “My IBS is completely cured and in a really good place. Before I didn’t have a lot of healthy habits because of being fearful of my IBS but I completely changed that. And now, as a mum of two, I’m all about my kids creating healthy habits from a young age.
“It’s all a domino effect, you need to look after yourself and I just wasn’t doing that at the time. No wonder I had IBS because I was so fearful of anything feeling weird in my body. But now I’m living a really healthy lifestyle.”
In a previous interview, she told Yahoo!: “The only way I can describe the pain is comparing it to ten times worse than a period cramp. The abdominal pain was absolutely excruciating.
“Around three years ago, I remember rehearsing for a tour of the show Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and the pain was so intense I just wanted to curl up in to a ball. I was also so bloated and had bad fatigue, yet I just had to push through. My anxiety was through the roof.”
Alexandra is currently working with Haliborange who have found that 95% of parents wish for their child’s creativity and aspiration of dreaming big to remain present as they get older and grow into adults. Haliborange is encouraging kids to dream big with the support of their Haliborange x Disney range and partnership with Alexandra Burke for the launch of the Haliborange Theatre of Dreams to help inspire healthy habits.
The star commented about the collaboration and said: “No dream is ever too small, and it’s just incredible just to be a part of this wonderful campaign and the workshop as well that’s going to happen with the Theatre of Dreams workshop that’s happening in the half term, encouraging all these young kids, all these young children, to reach their full potential.”
Alexandra Burke partners with Haliborange to help encourage children to dream big, and get creative and curious at the Haliborange Theatre of Dreams this October Half-Term.
