Forensics teams have been trying to piece together what happened to 31-year-old Liam Payne before he fell from the third floor balcony.
Now experts have revealed that Liam could have been the victim of ‘high-purity’ drugs, with a makeup that was more potent than the drugs he may have been used to.
Respected Argentinian news portal Infobae reported yesterday (October 21) that traces of cocaine had been found in his system, but that the tests on the white powder found in the late singer’s room had been inconclusive.

Last week it was confirmed by police sources that clonazepam, which is a benzodiazepine used to control seizures or fits due to epilepsy as well panic attacks, was found during a search of the singer’s third floor hotel suite.

Forensic toxicologist Fernando Cardini revealed that because Liam was in a different country, this could have triggered the “substance-induced”, “semi-conscious” or “unconscious” state it is reported he was in when he fell to his death.
In his interview with Argentine TV channel Todo Noticias’ news programme, about the alleged drugs cocktail Liam had reportedly consumed, Cardini said: “That’s a very complicated mix of chemical substances for any living organism.
“There was a situation in which a person consumed drugs, but being in a different country, perhaps it didn’t have the same concentration of drug that he bought. Perhaps that got the better of him.”
He added that, ‘there was no evidence of any self-defence injuries’ on Liam’s body, and explained that: “Someone committing suicide, before falling, has the instinct of putting his hands out to protect himself. He died from the fall, but the combination of drugs was very important.”
