While taking a day off from her work on the farm, TV star Amanda headed to the County Records Office to find out more on who used to live at the property. There, worker Derek discovered that a diary had been discovered from one of Anty Johns’ previous owners, and revealed that the man had died in the home itself.

Speaking to producers, clerk Derek said: “The intention today is to go through as many documents as I can with Amanda to point out who was at Anty John’s, who was born there, who died, and what the backstory of the actual house is. Hopefully, back to the 1600s.”

Amanda was intrigued by the history the house and asked Derek to help chart the owners of the property to help uncover its own family tree. However, the historian soon found something a diary belonging to one former resident, and it appeared rather bleak.

Looking at the records, it was revealed that the house was owned by a man, aged around 81 years old, named John Clarkson. Doing further digging, it turned out that the house was covered in the details of the inquest of his death.
