P Diddy son’s ‘careless and controversial’ move may ‘backfire on entire family’

P Diddy’s son’s “ill advised” move may cause more controversy for the Combs family.

Quincy Brown recently uploaded a YouTube video featuring a topless video of his father P Diddy, who was arrested on 16 September and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution.

In an exclusive chat with Daily Star, celebrity PR specialist Kayley Cornelius discussed Quincy’s badly-timed decision and what effect it could have on his father, as well as the rest of the family.

She said: “In PR, timing is everything and while there was never going to be a good moment for archived footage of P Diddy to surface, Quincy’s decision to release these clips during an ongoing trial was definitely ill-advised. This could seriously backfire, not just on his dad, but on the entire family.”

Quincy shared a clip of P Diddy topless in his video

“When dealing with a PR crisis, especially on the scale of P Diddy’s, the best approach is often to stay silent and lie low. Given the seriousness of the matter at hand, it’s impossible to entirely eliminate the negative repercussions, which is why it’s crucial to control what you can in order to minimise the overall backlash and wait for the situation to de-escalate.”

Kayley went on to explain the importance for everyone close to P Diddy to be working together and in agreement of how they address the situation. If someone breaks the chain, there could be dire consequences.

Quincy’s move may have been a big mistake for the family

She said: “This can only be achieved if all close sources are on the same page. The moment a new angle, perspective, or piece of information emerges, it drags attention straight back to the scandal and that’s exactly what’s happening now Quincy has carelessly included these clips of his dad in his recent vlog.”

“His video has undoubtedly added fuel to the fire, but it also risks pulling him and the rest of the family into controversy. Many have already called this move ‘tone-deaf’, and now people may start questioning how seriously they’re taking the situation. Additionally, it could open the floodgates to more conspiracy theories and accusations about their knowledge and possible involvement.”

Quincy has been branded “tone deaf” by baffled fans

Alongside affecting the public’s view of the Combs family, Quincy’s video could also affect his dad’s ongoing trial. Kayley said that although the clips themselves “may not be directly incriminating,” investigators may use the video “to build a character profile” of the I’ll Be Missing You rapper.

This profile could be “referenced against the allegations” and impact Diddy’s final sentencing.
