Christine McGuinness ‘distraught’ at Paddy’s ‘divorce jokes’ on opening night of tour

Christine McGuinness was left gutted after her soon-to-be ex-hubby Paddy McGuinness made light of their split during his latest gig.

The 36-year-old telly favourite and the Take Me Out star, 51, dropped the bombshell last year that they were going their separate ways after over ten years together. Despite calling it quits, the pair are still living together for the sake of their three kids.

Paddy, who’s been hitting the road with his new comedy show ‘Nearly There’, had the crowd at Blackburn’s King George’s Hall in stitches on Thursday night.

According to the Sun, the funnyman kicked off the night by declaring it was “all about love and respect tonight.” He then cracked a joke that he wasn’t fussed about the race, religion or sexual orientation of anyone there, quipping: “Tonight, folks, we’re all here as human beings with one common goal – and that’s to help me pay for my divorce. I’ve had the pants down, me, the pants down.”

Christine was reportedly devastated about people having a chuckle at her expense. A source told the Sun that the stunner was “shocked” by Paddy’s cheeky nod to their marriage woes.

The source added: “She was devastated yesterday and was horrified to be a laughing stock, she didn’t know Paddy was going to make her the butt of his jokes and felt shocked that he did.”

They went on to say: “She has kept a respectful silence throughout their divorce proceedings and their marriage fallout.”

According to the insider, Christine is feeling “very low” about it all and has zero interest in trash-talking her former flame. They added: “She is focusing on her family and work projects, which bring her joy, she’s not interested in bad-mouthing anyone.”

Christine and Paddy tied the knot back in 2011 but then hit the headlines with news of their separation revealed in a joint Instagram post two years back, stating: “A while ago we took the difficult decision to separate but our main focus as always is to continue loving and supporting our children.”
