The New Inn, located in Blagdon, has temporarily rebranded itself as ‘The Moo Inn’, serving organic milk on tap to its patrons.
This innovative move comes after research showed that 82% of Brits are returning to traditional cow’s milk after experimenting with various alternatives.
Larry Lamb will be the official face of Yeo Valley Organic’s Moo Inn, which will be open every day from 12pm to 10:30pm between October 29th and November 3rd, offering a limited-edition menu alongside its milk offerings.
In partnership with the dairy brand, Larry Lamb expressed his excitement about his new role, saying: “Being a pub landlord is a familiar role for me, which is why I’m excited to be back behind the bar to officially open The Moo Inn.”
“Except, instead of beer, I’m serving refreshing pints of milk, which taste as good as they look and we’re inviting people to come down and try it for themselves.”
Research by Yeo Valley Organic reveals that 58% of consumers are now more mindful about the origin of their produce and how it’s made with two thirds consciously opting for minimally processed foods, with improved nutritional value and natural ingredients.
Sophie Gregory, an organic dairy farmer, said: “Much like a microbrewery, care and craftsmanship goes into producing our milk which we treat like an art form. The process begins with our cows’ diet – they are free to graze as often as weather conditions allow on a nutrient-rich pasture that contains a diverse range of foliage.”
“The milk we produce is free of chemicals and added sugars, so customers can be sure that what they are drinking is totally organic, and totally delicious too.”
Data from OnePoll.com also found that 58% are reshuffling their household budgets, choosing to invest in higher quality home produce over dining out. Almost half (49%) confessed that saving money is the main driver behind this shift, while 39% mentioned health benefits and a quarter expressed a preference for home-cooked meals.
Each type of organic milk will be served in 250ml measures at the perfect temperature, in specially designed glasses to enhance the “ultimate flavour experience”. With every drink coming with bespoke tasting notes as part of a unique ‘Gastronomilk’ tasting experience.
The menu includes options such as semi-skimmed golden milk, classic chilled semi-skimmed, whole milk hot chocolate, and for those with a sweet tooth, double cream paired with a roasted plum crumble.
The Moo Inn will also offer a unique Yeo Valley Milk Stout and a limited-edition menu featuring milk-centric dishes to tantalise guests’ taste buds.
