TV star Amanda Holden was reportedly denied her simple request on every Ryanair flight she took. She travelled between the UK and Italy with comedian Alan Carr for their Amanda & Alan’s Italian Job TV show.
During these flights, Amanda would often enjoy a glass of rose, but her requests for ice in her drink were consistently turned down by the cabin crew.
On the Saving Grace podcast with GK Barry, Alan disclosed: “When we did the first series we flew with Ryanair and Amanda every time asking ‘can I have ice with my rose’ and they were like ‘no’.”
He added humorously: “Every time was no, unless they go and scrape it off the wings love, there’s going to be no ice on this flight.
“She thinks it’s the Ivy with wings. I’m like ‘love, you’re lucky’.”
While Amanda prefers a rose on the flights, Alan admits he enjoys an Aperol spritz, a popular cocktail made with prosecco, Aperol, and soda water.
The duo recently flew to Spain for their latest travel show, Spanish Job.
Alan confessed his fondness for Spain, calling it one of his favourite countries, reports the Daily Record.
They plan to explore the “unloved and forgotten” parts of the Costa Del Sol in the series, showcasing their DIY skills as they renovate a dilapidated property and discover the province of Andalusia.
Alan, speaking to the BBC, expressed his excitement: “It’s always exciting when a show you love gets recommissioned but the fact that we will be bringing our unique DIY expertise to a whole different country makes it even more special.
“We are saying ciao for now and Hola España! ” He added: “Can’t wait to grab our power tools and get our hard hats on and bring some much needed TLC to a casa in Spain!”
Ryanair has been approached for comment.
