TV host Phillip Schofield was joined by his wife Stephanie Lowe and their daughters at the funeral of his late mother this week, where he served as one of the pallbearers. Patricia Schofield’s passing at the age of 88 was announced just last month by a devastated Phillip.
The father-of-two, aged 62, paid tribute to her in a social media post at the time, expressing his gratitude to those who had cared for her before her death. Patricia’s funeral took place in Cornwall, where she resided, on Friday.
The service at St. Michaels Church in Newquay saw family and friends in attendance. He was accompanied by his wife Stephanie, 60, and their daughters Molly Schofield, 31, and Ruby Schofield, 28. It is reported that the service featured music from the Cornish Kernow Mens Choir and framed photos of Patricia were displayed around the church.

Pictures obtained by the Mirror show guests gathered outside the community venue. Former This Morning presenter Phillip was one of the four pallbearers, seen carrying the casket out of the church alongside three other attendees, reports the Mirror.
Additional photos capture him mingling with other guests at his mother’s funeral. A floral tribute of white roses adorned the wicker casket carrying Patricia Schofield, Phillip’s mother, who was sadly laid to rest recently. The ceremony attended by family saw the elegant casket placed into a hearse by pallbearers.
Adding a personal touch to the solemn occasion, Phillip’s dog Alfie and the matching canine companion of his wife Stephanie were present; Stephanie reportedly took care of Phillip’s pet during the service.
For the funeral, Phillip was dressed respectfully in a pale shirt, navy jacket, dark trousers, and black shoes while Stephanie coordinated in a blue jumper and skirt, complemented by black boots. The couple’s daughters, Molly and Ruby, wrapped up in black coats, stepped out of the church in sombre attire, with Molly in a teal dress and Ruby choosing a dark green ensemble for their grandmother’s farewell.
Phillip had previously expressed his sorrow over the loss of his mother on Instagram last month. He shared with his followers how his dear mum had “decided it was time” to join his father Brian Schofield, who passed away in 2008.
In an emotional post, he said: “After a heartbreaking weekend, my magnificent mum decided it was time to go to her beloved Brian. Over three days, we held her, loved her, hugged her and said everything that needed to be said.”
The ex-Dancing On Ice presenter took to social media to pay tribute to Patricia, writing: “She was calm, peaceful, beautiful and dignified. I will forever be proud and privileged that she was my mum.”
Phillip also expressed his gratitude towards the medical staff, stating: “Our eternal thanks to the paramedics. Treliske AandE and Critical Care team who have been, in the past and this weekend, my mum’s and our angels. Your love and care has been our saviour.”
Just days after Pat’s passing, Phillip returned to social media to honour a treasured family tradition. He posted a picture of a classic fish and chips meal inside his car, set against a backdrop of a rainy coastal scene, suggesting he was finding solace in the familiar during these gloomy times.
His caption read: “Keeping up the family tradition. Flounders fish on the headland.” It is believed that the TV star was in Cornwall, where his mother resided.
