Coldplay’s Chris Martin stops show to save lad from being ‘crushed’ in crowd

Coldplay’s main man Chris Martin brought their Sydney concert to a sudden stop after noticing there was a lad getting squished in the crowd, fearing he could get crushed.

The 47-year-old rockstar caught a glimpse of the kid in the standing section during their gig on Thursday night, and he didn’t hesitate to halt the tunes until security shuffled the boy to a safer spot.

Followers posted up the touching scene on TikTok, with fans saluting Chris for his quick thinking. In the viral video snippet, Chris sorts out the lad’s escape to a safer spot and tells him: “You can sit right here, you don’t have to be squeezed. You don’t have to be squished by all these adults.”

Fans were buzzing over Chris’s swift move to rescue the boy, as one fan splashed in the comments: “Such a class act.”

This caring moment unfolds just as the band hit a rough patch health-wise before their Aussie stadium stint, reports the Mirror.

Bass player Guy Berryman was floored by sickness ahead of their Marvel Stadium show in Melbourne, leading to the squad playing without him for the first time.

Rocking up to the Melbourne crowd before showtime, Chris said: “We will have a slightly different show and we’ll do our best to make it amazing because we are in Melbourne with all you beautiful people. If you see some mistakes and problems, it’s because we don’t have our bass player. You won’t see Guy tonight because he is vomiting.”

Post-gig, the Coldplay lads hit Instagram to thank their fans for being top-notch, posting: “Tonight was the first time in our band’s history that we’ve played a show without all four members onstage. Guy was taken ill unexpectedly just before the show. Thank you for carrying us through it.”

Fans flooded the comments with good vibes, saying: “Get well soon, Guy! We love you so much.”

Another pitched in: “All the best for Guy! I hope he makes a speedy recovery.” A different fan added: “Get well soon Guy, sending you lots of get well wishes and lots of love.”

Chiming in on the chatter this week, one follower piped up: “I hope Guy gets better soon.” And another enthusiast dropped a line saying: “Speedy recovery, Guy.”

The Coldplay crew has been smashing it with three bangers at Sydney’s Accor Stadium, and they’ve got one more to rock before they jet off to Auckland to wow crowds at three sold-out ragers, all part of their Music of the Spheres world tour.
