Bake Off’s Alison Hammond has nasty fall as startled fans all notice same thing

Great British Bake Off’s Alison Hammond fell from a height during the latest episode.

Viewers were left in shock and fits of laughter as Alison Hammond took a dramatic tumble on the Great British Bake Off. The 49 year old This Morning presenter was in high spirits during Tuesday night’s episode, playfully messing around on set.

However, she didn’t expect to almost perform a backwards roll while sitting on the table top. Attempting a leg spin on the counter, she claimed she wanted to “add some happiness to the task”.

Hammond got more than she bargained for when she fell backwards onto the floor and her fall left bakers stunned as she laughed off the blunder from behind the counter. “Don’t come over here, leave me!” she shouted at the camera crew, red-faced.

Host Noel Fielding couldn’t resist joining in, and laid himself on top of the star to join the pile up. “That is the best thing I’ve seen ever,” Fielding told her, and viewers at home seemed to agree.

Many took to social media to share their amusement and one Twitter user enthused: “‘Alison Hammond is the best thing to happen to Bake Off and no one can change my mind, she’s so real #GBBO #bakeoff.” Another added: “Alison Hammond is definitely the best thing to happen to Bake Off.”

And a third echoed these sentiments, writing: “Alison Hammond falling off the kitchen counter, was TV gold lol #GBBO.” The episode, which was ’70s Week themed, featured Alison also tumbling off a space hopper and leaving host Noel in stitches.

As the competition heated up, one of the five remaining bakers was eliminated ahead of the quarter-finals, with the grand final set to air on November 26. Unfortunately, it was Illiyin’s turn to say goodbye after a “wobbly week” – despite her gateau’s “delicious” flavours, its wonky structure and tendency to fall apart sealed her fate.
