I’m A Celeb star Alan Halsall’s Coronation Street future ‘confirmed’ ahead of finale

Corrie favourite Alan Halsall, known by telly addicts as Tyrone Dobbs, has sparked buzz this week about his future on the cobbles. The star, aged 42 and a much-loved fixture on Coronation Street since 1998, is currently roughing it out down under among the I’m A Celebrity campmates.

It’s now reported that Corrie chiefs have secured his return to Weatherfield, offering him a sweet deal prior to his jungle jaunt.Sources claim that Alan has given the thumbs up to sticking with the soap until the end of next year.

Setting the scene for his comeback, a source told the Sun: “Alan is really loved on Corrie and bosses wanted him to know he had their full support. The jungle is going to open a lot of doors for him but they wanted to make sure he knows how important a part of the cobbles he is. Viewers will be seeing a lot more of him over the next year.”

True to form, Alan hasn’t forgotten his roots while adventuring on I’m A Celebrity, which hit screens with a bang earlier this month. He’s even hinted at a fellow camper snagging a spot on the Street.

Just recently, Alan braved a spine-tingling bushtucker ordeal alongside Coleen Rooney, age 38. The dynamic duo nabbed all 10 stars yet chose a cheeky tactic, fibbing to campmates they’d only snagged a few, until the hearty grub rocked up, reports the Mirror.

Coleen had a laugh with Alan on I’m A Celebrity, promising him: “I’ll do my best acting skills, you can mark me out of 10!” After her stint at camp theatrics, Alan quipped back: “I’ll be getting you a job in Coronation Street before you know it!”

He even suggested she’d fit right in as the barmaid of the Rovers Return. Both Coleen and Alan are still roughing it out with fellow celebs Barry McGuigan, Danny Jones, GK Barry, Maura Higgins, Oti Mabuse, and Rev Richard Coles as the show heads towards its Sunday finale.

In Wednesday’s episode, the camp was thrown a curveball with a new immunity challenge twist, leaving some fans miffed about viewers losing their voting power. But hosts Ant and Dec are all for the shake-up, with Ant declaring on I’m A Celebrity… Unpacked: “It’s very exciting, it’s winner takes all.”

After a series of challenges, Danny, Oti, Coleen, and Maura emerged victorious, moving on to the next round and dodging two public vote offs for a shot at the legendary Celebrity Cyclone.
