MasterChef’s Gregg Wallace’s comments have landed him in hot water.
In an exclusive chat with Daily Star, celebrity PR specialist Kayley Cornelius weighed in on Gregg’s recent scandal. The presenter has been accused of making “inappropriate sexual comments” over a 17 year period.
He recently posted a video on social media about his accusers and branded them “middle-class women of a certain age,” which caused outrage online. He has since apologised for the comments and blamed being “under stress”.

Kayley addressed the video and weighed in: “To me, it seems Gregg might be heading down the same path as Phillip Schofield. Earlier this year, Schofield’s ill-fated return via a fiery documentary only served to put the final nail in the coffin of his TV career.”
“It’s clear Gregg hasn’t learned any lessons from Phillip’s mistakes so far, and with his next move being critical, he can’t afford to make the same error of posting thoughtless statements in the heat of the moment.”
“Gregg’s post was the worst possible move in this situation, revealing either a complete lack of guidance or a decision to ignore any advice entirely. With official investigations underway, he had the perfect opportunity to keep a low profile, allowing media coverage and online discussions to naturally die down.”
Kayley explained that “this would have given him time to develop a well-thought-out crisis management strategy” and the opportunity to “craft a measured response aligned with the findings of the investigation”.
“Instead, his impulsive decision has only made matters worse, adding fuel to the fire. His poorly worded statements come across as desperate attempts to shift blame and seek sympathy, underscoring a lack of accountability and remorse for the harm caused.”
“For anyone still unsure about their stance on Gregg, his comments—particularly his derogatory grouping of the women involved—could appear misogynistic, alienating even more people and encouraging them to draw their own conclusions before the investigation results are released.
