I’m A Celeb runner-up Coleen Rooney has revealed how she was plagued with headaches in the first week of the show, as she went cold turkey from caffeine, sugar and alcohol
Coleen Rooney struggled without caffeine, alcohol and sugar in the I’m A Celeb jungle.
The 38 year old WAG, who finished second place on the ITV show, opened up about her rough start in camp during a chat on Good Morning Britain. Coleen revealed she felt the effects of ditching caffeine, booze and sugar during her time in camp.
She confessed to hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley that she hadn’t prepped for the withdrawal symptoms before diving into the Aussie wilderness. Coleen said: “The first week I struggled, day three I had a headache.

“People were saying before I went in there, ‘have you started weening yourself off caffeine, this and that..’ I didn’t do any of that.” She added, “I focused on getting everything prepared before I went in the jungle to leave the boys that I didn’t actually think about being in the jungle until I got there.”

The TV star also explained how the hunger hit hard after they failed to win stars – and therefore meals for camp – during the trials. She told the hosts: “When I got there, a few days in I was thinking what have I signed up for? What am I doing here?
“And then the headaches set in, obviously withdrawal from caffeine, sugar, alcohol and then the hunger because we didn’t get the stars in the first week. The first week was a struggle but then it picked up after that.”, reports the Mirror.
Coleen also revealed she’s sick of rice and beans, adding: “We got used to the rice and beans in the end. I will never cook rice and beans again.”
The mum-of-two also revealed the emotional first chat she had with husband Wayne after a month-long gap. “He just said how much he missed me, how proud he was, and he said the support back home has been unbelievable,” she told the ITV show.
On Good Morning Britain, Coleen sweetly admitted: “He just can’t wait to see me, and I can’t wait to see him as well.” McFly star Danny Jones was crowned King of the Jungle.
