Carol Vorderman shocked fans as she debuted a new look on her Instagram. The former Countdown star posed for her 636,000 before she made the change, and asked for their advice.

After listening, she swapped her iconic blonde locks for a new brunette shade complete with a fringe. She claimed several of her followers encouraged her to make the change, and she obliged. Today (December 14) she shared the results, and her fans flooded the comments with appreciation.

Carol shared multiple pics showcasing her revamped image and expressed gratitude for the support from her fans. She captioned the post: “YOU TOLD ME TO DO IT. I trotted down to @toniandguybristol to see Kim and James….brunette you said (7,000 votes later! ) so that’s what we did….with a little fringe…and I bloomin love it.”

Carol mused over her fresh look saying: “I was a brunette for the first 55 years of my life and only went blonde to cover the grey coming through, so it’s quite weird like…oh there she is…” She also joked about future root upkeep, adding: “Now I’ll need my roots doing every 3 weeks or I’ll look like a skunk [cry-laughing emoji] but thank you, thank you… What do you think? “

The comments section was full of compliments, as one smitten fan exclaimed: “You look so young” while another confessed: “The so-called skunk look to which you refer, is in fact sexy as hell and should not be feared. Meanwhile, a third chimed in with: “We were right to call for the brunette now — you are magnificent.”, reports the Express.

Another admirer exclaimed: “Omg YES YES YES Carol – that’s taken 20 years off you! ! You looked amazing anyway but now…wowsers! ” Grateful for the love, Carol updated her post, saying: “UPDATE….Just read some of your early comments…you’re bloody lovely thank you.”

The telly legend has been in the news recently after she disclosed being axed from a show for flagging up inappropraite behaviour behind the scenes. Amid the allegations swirling around Gregg Wallace, Carol has been vocal about the need for more accountability in showbiz.

Chatting with the Mirror, she said: “I’ve made complaints, you may not be surprised to hear, about various people. Well, obviously, I get sacked.” She continued, revealing a recent incident without naming names: “Even in the last couple of years-I can’t tell you which show it was-but I complained about someone, and after that, I never appeared again.”

Carol didn’t hold back on her views that the issues like those involving Gregg Wallace aren’t one-offs. She elaborated: “It’s about keeping people down, particularly women. And it’s not just Gregg Wallace. This kind of behaviour is widespread, and it’s been happening for years.”

She underscored the ongoing nature of such problems and the lack of consequences for those responsible, leaving complainants feeling sidelined. “It’s still happening today.”
