The Wanted’s Max George, who is in hospital for an undiagnosed heart condition filmed himself pleading with his heart monitor to go up.

He put the harrowing video out today and you can see the monitor floating around the mid 30s — shockingly low. He points at the monitor and says: “Go up,” but instead it falls one point from 38 to 37 and then turns itself off.

The singer, 36, revealed earlier this week he was spending Christmas in hospital being forced to seek medical help after having an undiagnosed heart condition.

In the video, just before the heart monitor switches off, Max. In an attempt to get his heartrate up, tells himself: “City are going to win today.”

He captioned it: “Come on @mancity.. Sort me out will ya?!!”

The scary footage came hours after Max revealed he will undergo open heart surgery to have a pacemaker fitted.

After doctors ran further tests, Max revealed he will need to be fitted with the device that stops the heart from beating too slowly after they found an issue with the “bottom part of his heart”.

Pointing to his chest, he said: “So latest is that 100% I’m going to have a little friend put in here at some point.

“Erm, I’ve got an issue with the bottom part of my heart, it’s called a block. The tricky bit is what I have put in because until I have further tests we don’t know what caused it.”

The pop icon said it is all a “mystery” what has happened to him, although doctors have been able to eliminate some possible causes.

Max, who has battled alcoholism previously, said: “We’ve cancelled out a few things, like alcohol for example I’ve not had a drink for four-and-a-half years so it’s not that.

“It’s a bit of a mystery really, but that’s the hard bit. It’s the waiting. My heart rate is really, really low. They’re monitoring it 24/7, everyone has been amazing.

“But the waiting bit is tough. It’s just one of them things unfortunately. Whatever I get, I’ve got to get on with it. We’re hoping (for a) pacemaker, a pacemaker is good.”

A couple days before the heart monitor video, Max shared how he was having a “rough day” in hospital. He said: “I’ve had a bit of a rough day today.

“My heart rate dropped this morning, which was a little bit scary. But everyone here’s amazing and they managed to get it back up a little bit and get it stable again, which is great.

“A lot of friends and family are asking why I’m not just going in and having anything done yet, but there’s so many tests that need to be done before we do anything.

“I just need to get through to next week and have all the tests done, then they’ll know exactly what to do.”

All of Max’s messages since being in hospital make it clear he is absolutely adamant on staying in good spirits, despite the horrible ordeal he is having to go through.
