Gladiators icon Diane Youdale, better known as Jet, has opened up about the end of her 18-month marriage, saying it saw her develop an alcohol problem
Gladiators’ Jet has claimed she attacked her ex-wife after she was “pushed over the edge”.
Jet and Zoe Gilbert’s split was revealed just days ago. The couple had been married for just 18 months, though Jet now says it was over after four, despite her previously gushing over Zoe.
The former Big Brother panelist, 54, – real name Diane Youdale – has now spoken out, saying she developed an alcohol issue and felt suicidal after the relationship turned “toxic”. Their relationship came crumbling down after one explosive row saw Zoe fall over the back of a sofa, and Diane “press on her chest three times”.
Police were called to their north east England home but Jet was not arrested. Jet met Zoe, 50, during a chance meeting in a supermarket before they began a relationship.
Speaking to MailOnline, Jet says she “can’t remember what happened” after their row before being taken out by cops.
She said: “The living room was an absolute mess, there was coffee up the walls, writing all over the walls. She is claiming that I did all that, but I didn’t. I’m unsure what level of amnesia I must have had to block it out.”
The star also admitted: “I felt suicidal. She pushed me to the limit.”
During their short-lived relationship, Jet says she picked up a reliance on alcohol. It’s a far cry from her super-fit image from Gladiators.
However Jet has managed to kick the habit and hasn’t had a drink since July 2024. She claims the pair drank every night and that would lead to arguments, reportedly sparked by Zoe’s concerns about Diane’s former romances, and even clients and friends.
“She spent most of our marriage pushing me into my past until I was pushed over the edge,” Jet claimed.
Zoe has told The Sun: “I was continually lied to about these exes. I only found out about them when it came out in the press.”
She added: “I was upset because she hadn’t been truthful throughout the relationship. I had to find out about these previous partners in the papers.”
