A new horror movie inspired by Disney’s Peter Pan has stunned cinema-goers with a terrifying villain modelled after the beloved Disney character and a serial kidnapper plot
There’s a warped Peter Pan horror movie you never knew existed.
Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare is an upcoming film based on the beloved Disney character, which features Peter as the story’s villain with a face covered in scars and a habit of abducting children. The film’s trailer was recently released and horror fans were clearly divided what they saw.
“The fact that this isn’t some SNL parody trailer astounds me,” wrote one baffled viewer as another chimed in: “I’m getting Heath Ledger joker vibes.”
One amazed horror fan said: “Actually looks interesting. Kinda dig the moments where they pay homage to “Peter Pan” with his pose and shadow, and that brief moment of him levitating.”
Another excited viewer added: “Finally a Peter Pan horror movie,” a second wrote: “Why does this actually look good,” and a third: “This trailer’s giving me Terrifier vibes… And why do I love it?!”
Others were completely on board with the idea, complimenting the harmony between the beloved Disney character and the horror storyline. “One of the few times a slasher movie of an old story makes sense,” complimented another comment.
“Now THIS is a children’s book that I think could work as a horror movie if done right,” said another film fan. Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare is an upcoming 2025 horror movie based on the fairytale character.
Directed by Scott Chambers, the film follows Wendy Darling as she “strikes out in an attempt to rescue her brother from the clutches of the evil Peter Pan”. In the bizarre, twisted storyline, Wendy spots Tinkerbell taking heroin, believing it to be “pixie dust”.
The film’s villain Peter Pan previously worked as a mime and attempted to abduct a 13-year-old boy and take him to Neverland. His mother was murdered while trying to fight Pan and the plot follows his later kidnap attempts.
