A Hollyoaks star’s mother has been found dead alongside her husband, with gangsters reportedly suspected.
Dawn Searle, 56, and her husband Andrew, 62, were found dead at their holiday home in Les Pesquies on Thursday 6 February. Dawn, the mother of Hollyoaks’ Callum Kerr, was reportedly discovered near the front door, surrounded by jewellery and with a head injury.
Reports have also claimed that Andrew may have been tortured before his death. They were reportedly found at 12:20pm on 6 February after a neighbour went to check on them.
The couple had reportedly agreed to join them for a dog walk, but Dawn and Andrew did not turn up which sparked concern. Hollyoaks star Callum Kerr, who starred on the soap between 2020 and 2021, is the son of Mrs Searle and step-son of Mr Searle.
On Friday 7 February, the investigation into the couple’s deaths claimed that they may have been targeted by hitmen as Andrew had previously worked as an organised crime investigator.
French officials originally believed that their deaths were a homicide gone wrong, but have since reported that Dawn and Andrew’s deaths “were clearly a homicide”. The couple are believed to have been in their 60s.
Andrew is originally from England while Dawn grew up in the Scottish Borders. Her actor son has previously shared a heartwarming picture of him walking his mother down the aisle, in preparation to marry his step-father Andrew.
Callum is known for starring as PC George Kiss in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks and has also starred in Netflix shows such as Virgin River.
