EXCLUSIVE: Mel B says she has more balls than the rest of the Spice Girls – as the other in the group won’t go to the ‘extremes’ she has, the singer reckons as she signed up to Celebrity Bear Hunt
Mel B is convinced she’s got more balls than the other Spice Girls.
The singer reckons her bandmates would never have the guts to sign up for Celebrity Bear Hunt like she did. Taking part in the show meant facing danger in the jungle in Costa Rica.
Mel told the Daily Star Sunday: “I don’t think any of the other Spice Girls would go to the extremes I’ve gone to. They like to play it a little bit safer than I do. When I signed up to do Celebrity Bear Hunt, they messaged and said, ‘What are you doing you crazy thing?’”
Mel is famed for her feisty persona. The star managed to live up to her reputation during filming for the series even when she was terrified.
She said: “It was very dangerous. It was serious stuff. When we were in there I was scared to sleep because there was a leopard outside, I was scared of the next challenge because I literally didn’t know what it was going to be.
“I was jumping out of moving boats backwards. But you’ve just got to go for it. I was like a deer in the headlights, thinking ‘What have I signed up for?’. But it was fun.
“I like challenges. I like going into the unknown.”
Other celebs include Strictly judge Shirley Ballas, tennis legend Boris Becker and presenter Steph McGovern.
Mel isn’t the only one with a “streak of steel”, according to host and former SAS man Bear Grylls. Bear said o-star Holly Willoughby has a “streak of steel and a heart of gold” while working with her on the show.
Holly, 43, hosts the new reality survival show which sees famous faces dropped into the jungle of Costa Rica to become “prey” for Grylls.
Reflecting on her resilience on ITV’s Good Morning Britain on Wednesday, he said: “Holly has a beautiful spirit, she really does. And as you say, she’s overcome many tough things in her life.
“I think everybody on this show, myself, the cast and Holly, all of us are out of our comfort zone, so it’s a full-on committing experience in there. But I think the jungle does a lot of that for us, to challenge us and build us up.
“And I came away at the end of that thinking what a remarkable lady. Humble, brave, determined.”
The series is streaming on Netflix.
