Popular Britain’s Got Talent judge, Bruno Tonioli, has zero fear of being cancelled, because while the Italian is often ‘cheeky,’ he says he’s never outright mean to other people
Bruno Tonioli insists he isn’t remotely worried about getting cancelled — because he’s fundamentally a good person.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge is famed for being entertaining and cheeky, but he is convinced that isn’t a problem so long as you’re not being nasty to people.
The 69-year-old told the Daily Star Sunday: “If you’re spicy the right way, there is nothing wrong with it. I’ve never had any problems in the past and I’ve been on TV for 20 years.
“Whatever I’ve done or said always comes from good intentions. It’s never intended to shock. It’s comedy, it’s entertainment.”
Bruno regularly appears on live TV, but he never worries that his antics or comments will get him in trouble.
He said: “You can’t go on stage with something in your brain. You can’t think, ‘I mustn’t do this, I mustn’t do that’ or you’ll end up doing nothing. You’ll please nobody.
“You have to be real, spontaneous and entertaining. You don’t want to bore people. You have to be truthful and honest.”
When Bruno appears on Britain’s Got Talent, he is allowed to do whatever he wants.
He said: “Simon Cowell is terrible. He tells me, ‘Do whatever you want! There are no rules, darling. Do your thing!’.”
In recent weeks, stars including Gregg Wallace and Gino D’Acampo have been accused of bad behaviour on set.
Bruno is confident he won’t suffer the same fate.
He said: “Obviously, there are lines you don’t cross. There are some places you don’t go.
“If I saw anything I thought was inappropriate, I would nip it in the bud. But I have never seen anything like that on any show that I’ve been involved with.”
Britain’s Got Talent is back on Saturday at 7pm on ITV1.
