Married At First Sight mystery solved as narrator exposed as iconic soap star

One of Married At First Sight’s biggest mysteries is the identity of the show’s narrator – now, fans are gobsmacked to learn that a major soap star is behind the role

Married At First Sight’s biggest mystery has been revealed.

Fans of the show have long been convinced that the faceless narrator was Today show’s Georgie Gardner, but they were mistaken. Their identity has now been revealed as Home and Away actress Helen Dallimore.

A representative for the 53-year-old confirmed to Yahoo Lifestyle that the soap star has narrated the show for a number of years. Gardner held the role throughout the first four seasons, which caused confusion over who currently has the job.

Although Gardner dropped the role back in 2017, a number of online sources still say that she is the show’s nameless narrator. Although Dallimore doesn’t receive on-screen credit for her MAFS work, she is known as one of Australia’s biggest stars, known for All Saints, House Husbands and Water Rats.

She also rose to fame as Glinda in the West End production of Wicked back in 2006. However, many TV fans will recognise her from Home and Away.

Dallimore played Mitzy in the Australian soap, but more recently she appeared in Channel 10’s crime series North Shore. Elsewhere in MAFS news, Jay Howard has revealed the one thing that “changed her life” during a health battle.

She spoke to The Mirror: “”I had to have an MRI scan and everything because they thought I had MS, It was a big thing, it went on for over 12 months. I was in and out of work… it was a horrible time for me.”

It was later discovered that she was struggling with RSI, repetitive strain injury, which left her unable to feed or dress herself. The MAFS contestant eventually realised what was causing her pain and hasn’t looked back since.

“All turned out it was because I was straining my fingers by using normal keyboards,” she said. “We got one, I’ve not had a problem since. It’s been brilliant and it’s actually changed my life, I’ve not had to go to any more hospital appointments, I’ve not had it ceasing up, it’s not been cramping.”
