Former Love Island contestant Scott Thomas was nowhere to be seen at the All Stars grand finale despite, leaving his co-stars to share an emotional update about him
Former All Stars islander Scott Thomas was noticeably missing from the grand finale last night – leaving his co-stars to share an “emotional” update.
Tina Stinnes, 29, who was previously paired up with the 36-year-old hunk in the sun-soaked ITV2 villa, told Amy Hart just before Monday night’s grand finale: “I have heard from Scott. Yeah, me and Scott have FaceTimed. […] We spoke today.”
When prodded about who made contact first, she shared: “Well, he always told me he was following me on Instagram so when I got out [of the villa] I got confirmation he wasn’t when I was in there. So I said ‘I told you you didn’t’ and he said it was a glitch. […] Then we had a FaceTime and we’ve been on the phone. We had a really good chat.”
Ex-islander Amy cheekily quizzed if Tina is plotting a date with Scott when she gets back to the UK from South Africa post-final. Tina skirted around the idea of a “date” but hinted they’re set to have a proper catch-up sometime soon, reports the Mirror.
A source told The Sun why Scott didn’t feel the need to show his face at the final and said: “Scott didn’t want to go back in after quitting, so he told ITV no to flying back out. “He achieved everything he wanted to on the show and didn’t see any point in going back. He just wants to focus on his business now.”
Earlier in April, Scott announced his departure from the villa. He was once closely knitted with Tina but, reflecting on his time post-exit, he remarked: “I had a connection with [her] but it wasn’t fireworks.”
While in the villa, Scott often seemed unsure about their fling and, just before his exit, he broke it to Tina that he saw no future in their pairing. His doubts even led to a confrontation from fellow islander Elma Pazar.
Soon after, Tina herself got the boot in an episode following. Initially matched with India Reynolds in this second season of All Stars, India found herself out in the cold as Tina made a later entrance and coupled up with Scott, leaving India single.
However, moments before his own villa exit, Scott confessed to Tina: “I don’t fully feel it. And it’s getting to the point now where I don’t feel like I can give you any more and I think that you like fully deserve that.”
