90s boyband icon recalls crazy fan encounter where police were forced to intervene

EXCLUSIVE: Former Bad Boys Inc member Ally Begg recalled his 90’s band days and shared some memories of when the group would be mobbed by hundreds of obsessed fans

Bad Boys Inc star Ally Begg has lifted the lid on the “complete and utter madness” that used to surround the much-loved band.

Ally starred in the band with Matthew Pateman, David Ross, Tony Dowding from 1993 to 1995 and delivered hits such as More to This World and Take Me Away.

When speaking exclusively to Daily Star as he promoted his YouTube Channel, Ally spoke about some of the chaotic moments the boy band faced before they went their separate ways.

Ally, who has been seriously battling with his health, told us: “There were a couple of times we had to be pulled off stage because we were being mobbed by fans, there were times when it was getting quite frightening. We used to do a lot of gay clubs which was great fun, but the female fans were the ones who went OTT, screaming and chasing us.

“There were times we had to crawl through the legs of security guards and into a car to get away from a gig. I remember when I got home to Aberdeen once and the police had to escort me into my door, as there were so many fans outside my mum and dad’s house.

“It was complete and utter madness, it’s everything you have the perception of when you imagine it, and the adrenaline is incredible. When you walk onstage and you see a sea of people, the rush is unbelievable.”

The boyband legend, 52, also admitted he hasn’t spoke to some of his former bandmates for more than 20 years – but says it’s time to change that. He added: “I would love to see the boys again, I really would, because we all shared the same experience. Now that I’m a dad, I appreciate it an awful lot more because you start to appreciate life as a whole.

“It’s been long enough that I’ve dwelled on it all, and now I’m just going to think of all the good times and laughs we’ve had because we did share some unbelievable experiences.”
