Loose Women star’s agonising health condition sparked by heart-wrenching family loss

Loose Women star Coleen Nolan opened up about her health on the ITV show earlier today, sharing that she’s been experiencing painful symptoms and that it’s been a “stressful” time for her

Coleen Nolan got real about her health struggles on today’s episode of Loose Women. after a devastating time for her family.

The 59-year-old opened up about the stress-related skin woes she’s been facing, especially since the festive season and while mourning her sister Linda Nolan. Linda, who was 65, sadly passed away six weeks ago after a battle with cancer.

On the ITV show, Coleen revealed to her fellow panelists that she’s been battling eczema, which an expert reckons is due to her being “very stressed”. She’s now planning to get some moles and skin tags checked as part of dealing with the condition known for causing dry, itchy skin.

During a chat about dermatology, Coleen reminded viewers that she had previously sought treatment for a carcinoma on her shoulder and pre-melanomas on her face. She explained: “They’ve told me [the latter] is from childhood. Being burnt in childhood.

“It’s quite common in people of our age and above, because, like you say, back in the day, we weren’t clued up as much about skin care.” Coleen continued, highlighting the impact of stress on her skin: “But I also know that with stress and… I mean, my skin has gone insane,” reports the Mirror.

Denise Welch chimed in, acknowledging Coleen’s tough times: “Well, you’ve had your fair share of stress.” Coleen responded, detailing her painful rash: “I’ve been covered in… I got a terrible rash all round my middle and it went up my shoulders. And it was so sore and so itchy.”

The Loose Women star also opened up about her health scare, revealing that she sought a dermatologist over a skin condition. Coleen shared: “I’m thinking ‘what is this? ‘ And it was all over Christmas and New Year, then obviously when Linda passed. And I went to the dermatologist and he’s like ‘yeah it’s eczema’.”

She elaborated on the show: “And I was like ‘I’ve never had eczema in my life’. And he said ‘no, but you’re very stressed and the first place stress shows itself, or any condition, is on your skin’.”

Looking ahead, Coleen mentioned to her pals: “Now I’ve got to go and have a couple of things just kinda shaved, like moles and stuff, that they’re gonna check out.”

Co-star Ruth Langsford chimed in with “And skin tags.” To which Coleen responded: “And skin tags, yeah.”

The revelation comes shortly after Coleen posted a touching tribute to her late sister Linda on what would have been her birthday last Sunday. On Instagram, she shared nostalgic clips of them performing together, captioning it with heartfelt words: “To my beautiful sister… think of you everyday, but especially today on your birthday … I miss you so much and life won’t be the same without you.”
