Teddi Mellencamp shared her first message since undergoing brain tumour surgery.

The 43-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum returned to social media on Tuesday, Feb. 25, with a birthday tribute to her now 5-year-old daughter, Dove.

The Instagram post read: “Happy birthday to my miracle baby. Hard to believe it’s been 5 years since you made our lives better and brighter. But no matter how grown you get, you’ll always be My Baby Dovey.”

The heart-warming post included a collage of mother-daughter snaps and solo pictures of the birthday girl.

Mellencamp has often called her daughter her “miracle baby” because she was conceived naturally after she and her ex-husband Edwin Arroyave, 47, faced fertility struggles while trying for their two elder children.

Like her mother, Dove has also faced health challenges, including a diagnosis of lambdoid craniosynostosis, a rare condition that affects skull formation after birth, according to the Mayo Clinic.

This post is the first we’ve heard from Mellencamp after the star had emergency surgery to remove two brain tumours earlier this month. The op was successful, her estranged husband confirmed, but she’s been in “so much pain”.

She was diagnosed with “multiple” tumours on her brain by doctors after she went to hospital in “unbearable” pain – they believe the tumours have been growing for at at least six months. Teddi had been suffering “severe” headaches for weeks before she checked into hospital in “unbearable” pain.

Mellencamp first told fans the devastating news with a post. She wrote: “For the last several weeks I’ve been dealing with severe and debilitating headaches. Yesterday the pain was unbearable and required hospitalization.

“After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors on my brain, which they believed have been growing for at least 6 months. Two of the tumors will be surgically removed today – the remaining smaller tumors will be dealt with via radiation at a later date.

“I am blessed to be surrounded by my children, family, friends, doctors, nurses, and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health. Thank you everybody who has reached out, and to everyone who has supported me along this journey.”
