Former Strictly Come Dancing star Adam Thomas was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2023 and has been taking fans along on the journey with very honest updates
Ex Emmerdale star Adam Thomas has begged “take my pain away” in a raw post.
The former Strictly Come Dancing star has been very honest about his health journey, previously saying he’s “in pain every day”. Adam, who hails from a very famous family, was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2023.
In a new update he was undergoing LED treatment. He spoke of how the disease has been affecting both his body and mind, making it difficult to stick to an exercise routine.
In a black and white photo, the 36-year-old could be seen on a bed with an LED lamp above him. He wrote on it: “This disease really does f*** with your head, especially when you’re trying to shift some weight get into a routine of exercise.
“Constant battle constant set backs! Just take my pain away please!
“I’ve suffered enough now! Am really trying to hold myself together but it’s not easy.”
He continued: “Just one of those days… keep fighting people… on the days where we can’t train… we have to take care of ourselves. Self care and recovery.”
Adam’s disease is a long-term condition which is currently incurable. It causes pain, swelling and stiffness in the joints.
Earlier this month, during a chat on Good Morning Britain, Adam said he’d been in pain “every day” for the last few years. He told hosts Ed Balls and Susanna Reid: “It’s been tough.
“I’m not over-exaggerating when I say this but those two and a half years, every day I’ve been in pain.”
The Waterloo Road star explained he’d been trying a few different medications, and recently switched to a carnivore diet. He said: “I’ve noticed a huge difference, especially within the past couple of weeks. It’s given me a little bit of hope now.”
Adam went on: “I feel like the inflammation is going down a little bit and I’m getting my life back which is the most important thing.”
