A video of actress Demi Moore kissing her 15-year-old co-star back in 1982 has resurfaced ahead of her Oscar nomination for playing Elizabeth Sparkle in The Substance
A clip of Demi Moore kissing a 15-year-old has resurfaced.
The clip, reportedly taken at Philip Tanzini’s 15th birthday party, was shot back in 1982 back when Moore was just 19. It was aired by Entertainment Tonight and shows Demi Moore kissing her co-star.
In the video, The Substance actress wore a grey shirt as she kneeled down beside him. Philip wore a red jumper as Demi leaned down to kiss him repeatedly on the lips.
The Independent reported that throughout the video, Demi can be heard saying: “I love Phillip and he’s the only one I love… I love him dearly, he’s one of my most favourite people… He’s truly terrific and I really love him.”
At the time, Demi was married to her first husband Freddy Moore, who she wed at just 17. The video has resurfaced multiple times over the years and critics on X/Twitter have had a lot to say about the controversial clip.
One person wrote: “If a grown man kissed a little girl like this…” while another said: “Where the hell was this kids parents at?”
A third person joined in to say: “This is disgusting,” as a fourth X/Twitter user wrote: “That is well creepy!”
However, someone defended Moore writing: “This is getting blown out of proportion. It was the 80s, things were different.”
Moore was recently nominated for an Oscar nomination for her performance in 2024’s The Substance, a body horror film that follows a fading celebrity after she’s fired by her producer in search for a younger model.
Demi’s character Elizabeth Sparkle uses a black market drug in an attempt to create a younger version of herself, but things go horribly wrong making for some truly horrifying SFX scenes. Moore’s Oscar nomination is her first ever and she addressed the milestone achievement in a statement.
She said: “Being nominated for an Oscar is an incredible honour, and these last few months have been beyond my wildest dreams.“
