Dancing on Ice’s Dan Edgar dealt devastating blow just hours before semi-final

EXCLUSIVE: Former Dancing on Ice champ James Jordan has weighed in on his year’s semi-finalists and believes TOWIE star Dan Edgar is at risk of being eliminated

Dancing on Ice star Dan Edgar has been dealt a crushing blow ahead of the semi-final.

He recently returned to TOWIE for its latest series, but the 34-year-old has also made it to Sunday’s (March 2) semi-final of Dancing on Ice (DOI). He’s made it further than the likes of Love Island star Chris Taylor, who joked he shouldn’t have “feng-shuied his caravan” before he got axed.

Dan landed in the dreaded skate off against Traitors star Mollie Pearce last weekend, as they’d both received the lowest combined scores from the judges and public votes. However, it was Dan who impressed judges Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean and made it to the semi-final.

Former DOI winner and Strictly pro James Jordan has now weighed in on this year’s semi-finalists and believes Dan, who is skating with pro Vanessa James, is likely to land in the bottom two again. Despite him being the best skater, James says, he’s not getting enough votes from the public – and this might be because people assume he’ll be safe so are casting their votes elsewhere.

Asked who is most at risk of being eliminated, James told Daily Star: “It’s tough to say, but I think Dan [Edgar] must be the one [most at risk next weekend]. He’s the best skater out of everyone, but people aren’t voting for him because he ended up in the bottom two this week.

Speaking on behalf of SkyVegas, he continued: “People probably thought he was safe and didn’t vote for him. For Anton [Ferdinand], it’s much harder to drop into the bottom two – he’d have to go from first place all the way to last.

However, he believes Dan will make it to the final, adding: “Dan only had to slip two places to end up in the bottom two. I’d say Dan is the favourite to be in the bottom two next week. I don’t think he’ll be eliminated, though, because his skating is strong enough to keep him in, unless someone else really steps it up. We just don’t know who’s getting the highest vote.”

The semi-finalists are Dan, TV host Michaela Strachan, former footy star Anton Ferdinand, and Corrie star Sam Aston. The semi-final will air at 6.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
