McFly star Danny Jones was reportedly seen kissing Maura Higgins at a BRIT Awards after party, just days after he joked about “leaving his wife” of 11 years Georgia
McFly’s Danny Jones has been stirring the pot with some cheeky comments about his marriage, just before he was caught in a cosy moment with Maura Higgins.
The rocker and his I’m A Celeb campmate Maura, fresh from her split with Pete Wicks, were reportedly spotted sharing a smooch at a post-BRITs party.
Fans are giving Danny stick for the rumoured snog, as he’s hitched to Georgia and they’ve got little Cooper at home. On a recent Parenting Hell podcast episode, Danny had a laugh with hosts Rob Beckett and Josh Widdecombe about “leaving” his missus.
He talked about moving digs during his jungle stint last year. Chatting about home renovations, Danny joked: “Are you renovating? Same mate. It’s a nightmare isn’t it?” Rob cracked a gag: “Is that why you went in the jungle to get money for the renovations?” Josh chimed in: “To get away with it. Have my kitchen done – three weeks in the jungle.”
Rob then quipped about celebs’ real reasons for going on the show: “You’re honest when they go – why are you here?” “I’ve got a massive tax bill and she’s left me. That’s why I’m here. Give me the kangaroo d*** and let’s get this done,” as reported by the Mirror.
Danny played along, saying: “Do you know what? I left my wife to move,” and added with a chuckle: “I just left my wife,” which had them all cracking up, reports OK!.
In a bit of an “awkward exclusive” Rob couldn’t help but point out the situation, with Josh chiming in: “What an exclusive.”
Danny then added: “I left my wife to move house so I’m surprised she’s still with me to be honest because she moved the house all by herself.”
After his jungle jaunt on I’m A Celebrity, Danny revealed that his missus Georgia was pretty much at her wits’ end. He shared, “When I got back, my wife was like I think I just need to go away to a hut myself for a few days.
“I said go and take yourself away and have a few days. You know what it was like, she was overwhelmed.
“It got too much for her, I could see it in her. I was like you just need to go away,” he said, acknowledging the immense pressure Georgia faced.
And she did just that, taking a solo retreat. Georgia even expressed her exhaustion on social media, saying, “I was going into this New Year burnt out.
“Everything I didn’t want to feel entering 2025… I felt. Over a month of solo parenting, moving house on my own, working hard on my career whilst Danny was in the jungle with snakes in his pants was A LOT!”
“So whilst I was still in Australia I decided I needed to do something for me… a solo trip, one to push me out of my comfort zone but also one to give me the break I craved. So… I booked a little cabin in the middle of nowhere, somewhere near Shropshire, and found a little nugget of calm in my overwhelmed brain. I chopped fire wood, built fires, sat in silence, read books, slept, took in the views, watched the sheep in the nearby field… and it was perfect.”
Danny also shared some heartfelt reflections on fatherhood during their chat: “I’ve definitely learned that time with my son is more important than anything. Being there for him and being present when he needs that emotional support.
“Like last night, I find myself slipping back into my [old] ways,” he admitted. “‘It’s bedtime, get to bed, clean your teeth mate.
“Dinner’s on, I’m kind of trying to cook for mummy and I’ve got to be here’. It does get a lot but we’re all the same and some nights I’m better than others – some nights, I’m nailing life and bedtime.”
He shared his key takeaway on treasuring moments with family: “The best thing I’ve learned is that time is hard to find but when you do find it, it’s really nice. Enjoying that time – not that I’ve ever not enjoyed it – but when I’ve been distracted and someone needs my attention or needs an answer, I think that’s really important. He notices it.”
