Tiger King star Joe Exotic has been calling on Donald Trump for help, after he was being told his new husband is being deported back to Mexico just days before his birthday
Joe Exotic is calling on Donald Trump for help, as confusion swirls around his husband’s status and whether he’ll be deported.
The Tiger King star asked Trump for help just for himself, after he asked for “a commutation of [his] sentence to time served with no probation” in order for him to continue his charity work. Now he’s asking for more advice, as he doesn’t know what’s happening with his husband’s deportation case.
Joe filed for a marriage application with fellow prison inmate Jorge Marquez Flores, 33, back in October 2024. The pair had met while they were both locked up at Federal Medical Center Fort Worth.
Reality star Joe shared some sad news with fans earlier this week, writing on March 3, 2025, saying his husband had been deported. “They took him away from me today to deport him 2 days before my birthday.” He added: “Now you want me to beg you Donald Trump to let me out so I can go save him. I will give you my first 5million I make to get one of those gold cards if that’s what it takes.”
The “gold card” he mentions is thought to be referring to one of Trump’s ideas to introduce a “gold card” costing $5million, and would grant lawful permanent resident status in the US with a pathway to citizenship. However, he has now posted again saying Jorge wasn’t deported after all.
There seems to be a lot of confusion over what’s going on with his husband, and Joe has issued a plea to President Trump to ask for help. He wrote: “For my Birthday the Trump Administration has inherited the Bureau of Prisons in such a mess that no one knows what the hell is going on that they Did NOT deport Jorge.”
He added: “We have three more months to work on his asylum case or get Trumps GOLD card. Thank you God, Thank you to whoever made this happen.”
Jorge Marquez Flores is from Mexico, and was in prison for being in the US illegally. According to Joe’s Instagram, Jorge had been riding in a car with others who were also in the US illegally, all from Mexico. “Jorge has no drug or violence on his record at all, his only mistake was being born in a country of violence and poverty.”
He confirmed in the comments that the pair had married, and he also hit out at Netflix saying he hadn’t received any money from the streaming giant. One confused fan asked: “You didn’t get any Netflix money?”
Joe replied “Nope.” He also revealed that Jorge’s cousin had been killed a few days earlier, in “the violence that has plagued parts of the country”.
