EXCLUSIVE: The Apprentice 2022 winner Harpreet Kaur has revealed the most important piece of advice contestants should take when it comes to dealing with Lord Sugar
The Apprentice winner Harpreet Kaur has lifted the lid on what key piece of advice all contestants should follow.
The 2022 winner spoke to Daily Star in collaboration with https://www.skyvegas.com/games/slots about her time on the show and the current series of the BBC programme.
When asked what advice she has for the newbies, Harpreet revealed that they “won’t get far” with Lord Sugar if they are “easily offended”. Harpreet explained: “Lord Sugar and I had a great relationship when we were in business together, and we parted ways on really good terms. I’m sure if I ever needed to, I could pick up the phone and he’d be there.
“He can definitely be intimidating, and if he likes you, you’ll be fine – but if he doesn’t, you’ll know about it. Personally, I never found him difficult or intimidating.
“At the end of the day, you can either take his comments personally and get offended, or you can take them on the chin and understand that it’s just his perspective. He’s looking for someone he can invest in, someone he clicks with. If you’re the type to get offended by every little thing he says, you won’t get far.
“He’s got a huge amount of experience and knows exactly what he wants. He’s very straight-talking and unapologetic, but why shouldn’t he be? He’s successful, and his focus is on getting things done. I never found that intimidating – we actually got on quite well.”
When asked if she could tell us anything surprising about the whole The Apprentice process that maybe viewers at home would be surprised to know, she also dished some packing secrets.
The star explained: “Every week before heading into the boardroom, you have to pack your suitcase as if you’re going home. It has to include everything – your belongings and a set of clothes for the treat if you win. If you lose, you’ve already got your things ready to leave.
“But not once did I ever pack clothes to go home – that section of my suitcase was always empty! I was that confident, week after week, that I wasn’t going anywhere. I just thought, ‘If I get fired, I’ll just have to stay in the same clothes I’m wearing for a few days – because if I’m going home, I deserve to be punished!’.”
