The girls in the UK’s Eurovision entry, Remember Monday, have all been in the limelight before, with West End stage appearances and a stint on TV
Girl group Remember Monday will represent the UK at Eurovision this year, but the contest in Switzerland won’t be their first taste of fame.
Members Charlotte Steele, Lauren Byrne and Holly-Anne Hull – a trio of best friends who met in the sixth form – will already be known to some TV viewers from appearing on The Voice UK in 2019. They auditioned with their rendition of Seal’s Kiss From A Rose, wowing judges Olly Murs, Tom Jones, Will.i.am and Jennifer Hudson.
After all four coaches spun their chairs around, it was former American Idol contestant Jennifer who took on the role of mentor. She helped them get all the way to the quarter-finals and is still in their corner today, inviting the girls onto her chat show in the US three years ago.
The singers may also be known to theatre buffs, with all three having appeared on the London stage. Holly was in The Phantom of the Opera, Charlotte was in Mary Poppins and Lauren was in Matilda, as well as the nationwide tour of SIX The Musical.
Remember Monday will take to the Eurovision stage in May with their track What The Hell Just Happened?, and fans who have heard it have high hopes that it will be far from a nul points kind of year for the UK.
One posted on X: “Getting Taylor Swift x Queen x Alishas Attic vibes from Remember Monday the UK entry for Eurovision, best song we’ve had in years apart from Sam Ryder. I think we will do well. What The Hell Just Happened? is a bop.”
Someone else commented: “The last time the United Kingdom won the Eurovision Song Contest was 28 years ago, in 1997. This year that will change. As long as they don’t f*** up in their performance on the live show, Remember Monday will win with What The Hell Just Happened?”
“I love them so much they’re going to be AMAZING ambassadors for the UK this year,” said another fan.
“These ladies are gonna charm the Eurovision world and the song is great,” somebody else posted on Instagram. “Like we know they can sing so… It’s on.”
“THE BEST SONG SO FAR,” remarked another fan, as one posted: “Banger! Congratulations! You’re going to have so much fun on stage and bring the house down. Show ‘em how it’s done!”
The Eurovision Song Contest 2025 will take place St Jakobshalle arena in Basel, Switzerland in May, with the grand final held on May 17.
