Over on Good Morning Britain, viewers were jolted from their brekkie routines with not one but two breaking news flashes. This Monday’s (March 10) show had Ed Balls and Susanna Reid at the helm, with Sean Fletcher on deck to spill the latest headlines.
The telly was buzzing until Sean’s update came to an abrupt halt for some hot-off-the-press updates. Motorists bound for Heathrow got a bit of a headache as Sean dished out the first scoop: “Breaking news to bring you. Passengers travelling by car to Heathrow airport are facing delays after a vehicle caught fire in a tunnel early this morning.”
Seems like traffic’s a nightmare on the M4 and A4, and Heathrow’s admitted getting to terminals 2 and 3 is a right pain at the moment.
On the bright side, Sean confirmed no one’s been hurt in the blaze. Without missing a beat, there was another urgent bulletin hot on its heels about Russia stirring the pot.
Sean dropped the bombshell: “Russia’s federal security service has said two people connected to Britain’s embassy in Moscow have been ordered to leave the country accused of spying,” and continued, “Russia’s state news agency TASS reported the diplomats have been stripped of their accreditation by the FSB which claimed it uncovered what it called signs of intelligence and sabotage work which threatens Russia’s national security, reports the Express.
Wrapping up the tense news, Sean mentioned the boot-out notice – those accused have two weeks to pack up and ship out.
The Federal Security Service (FSB) has reported that the second secretary of the British embassy in Moscow and the spouse of another British diplomat have had their accreditation revoked.
