Real Housewives star Teddi Mellencamp told fans that she ‘must keep going and give myself joy and goals’, after revealing that she has ‘multiple tumours’ in her brain

Teddi Mellencamp has clapped back at trolls over her decision to horse ride after brain surgery.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 43, was first diagnosed with melanoma in 2022 and earlier this year she was hospitalised as a result of tumours in her brain. She underwent brain surgery in February and last week shared that she had more tumours which doctors planned to treat with immunotherapy.

“Thank you for all the support,” Teddi wrote on her Instagram Story. “I am feeling great and got approval from my doctors to ride today. This makes my heart and soul happy.”

She went on: “If I see you at the show today and you have the urge to try to tell me not to I kindly ask you to refrain. I unknowingly rode with huge tumours in my brain for six months and those big ones are gone now.”

The star went on: “When you are sick or have cancer your mental health is very important. I must keep going and give myself joy and goals. I am going to always fight to be my best and find ways to smile and enjoy my life.

“Thanks for coming along this journey with me. I am in no place for negativity or discouragement.”

She wrote in another post: “Even when sick I am going to fight with haters who want you to feel sad and down. We all have our right to fight to feel our best.”

“These are all metastases of my melanoma. The doctors are hopeful that immunotherapy will effectively treat them.

“I am feeling positive – that I will win this battle, that I got this wig (I like the short hair, just not the bald spots), and that I can remember all of Angelina’s kids’ names.”

Teddi, who is the daughter of singer-songwriter John Mellencamp, is best known for being a main cast member on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills from 2017 and has been other shows such as Vanderpump Rules and The Real Housewives of Orange County.
