James Jordan became the loveable villain of Celebrity Big Brother in 2014 when he entered the house, but in a recent interview the former Strictly pro said he did have one regret
A former Celebrity Big Brother star admitted he had one regret from his show stint.
With the new series of the show set to get underway next week, fans are already getting stuck into the potential line-up for spring’s cast members. A number of iconic housemates are also set to return over the course of three-week stint, including Tiffany Pollard, who is returning to the show nearly a decade later.
But in a recent interview, one former housemate has revealed that he would be willing to go back into the house for a third time, after two successful stints on the show. However, he confessed that there will always be one moment from his time on the show that he would never be able to live down.
James Jordan wowed audiences as a professional dancer on BBC hit show Strictly Come Dancing, before ditching the dancefloor to lean into a TV career. One of his first TV gigs after hanging up his dancing shoes came in 2014 when he entered the Celebrity Big Brother house.
Going up against the likes of Hollywood icons Gary Busey and Leslie Jordan, as well as Gogglebox ‘s own George Gilbey and Benefits Street star White Dee, James, 46, quickly became the villain of the series. He eventually finished in third place, losing out to Audley Harrison and eventual winner Busey.
James would eventually return to the show in 2017, as part of an “all-stars” series, but was given the boot early on. Speaking with Betway Casino, James revealed he enjoyed his stints on the show but was left in agony after one awkward moment.
When asked if he had any regrets James said: “I still cringe when I think about the time I described myself as the Brad Pitt of the dancing world. What you probably didn’t see on the show is Gary really winding us up.”
“He kept going on about how much more famous he was than all of us; how he was Hollywood and we couldn’t compare,” James added. “He’s a funny character and I liked him but the conversation went on for a while before I eventually turned to him and said: “You do realise that everyone is in here on their own merit?” and he just dismissed that and insisted his fame was next level.
“So I said: ‘Let me put this in perspective. I am the Brad Pitt of the dance world.’ I was saying it in a joking way but when I realised how it may come across, I was horrified – I still cringe now.”
He added that he would be willing to go back into the show for a third stint – making him the first person to do the show on three separate occasions. However, James explained he would be more aware of what he said third time around.
“I think I’d just probably be more aware of how you can be edited if you’re not careful,” James warned. “And I think, because I’m so outspoken, if you take something I said out of context, then it can sound a lot worse than it is if it’s within context.
“I think I would think more about what I say to people. But I’d probably get to the stage where I’d stop caring too. It’s in my nature to say what I’m feeling!”
Celebrity Big Brother kicks off on April 7 at 9pm on ITV2.
