Reality star Teddi Mellencamp has updated fans about her progress with the treatment for multiple brain tumours as she has reached a huge milestone in her health battle
Teddi Mellencamp has updated her fans with an update about her health battle, as her family has rallied round her as she has been undergoing treatment for her multiple brain tumours.
The former Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star has shared she has undergone her final day of radiation treatment as part of her ongoing cancer battle, as Terri, 43, shared a video update saying: “So it’s a pretty big day. Today’s supposed to be my final day of radiation.”
It turns out her final day was originally meant to be last week but doctors “found those pesky four more tumours”, so it had to be repeated. She wore a bright yellow t-shirt with a sweary motif on it, and joked: “I decided on a nice shirt just in case I do get to ring my bell.”
She told her followers: “Ringing the bell can signify a major phase of treatment — today was my last day of radiation. 5 more rounds of immunotherapy to go. Love you all for the kind messages.”
The bell she is referring to is a landmark moment for many cancer patients, where they ring the bell to symbolise finishing treatment. After completing radiation, she said she will only have immunotherapy left to do.
The mother-of-three is in good spirits though, saying she has “a pretty good feeling” that she would finish radiation as planned. Talking about her treatment mask, she joked: “I already look like Hannibal Lecter”.
She added that she “loves” her doctor and her friend Jennifer Leipart would be joining her to ring the bell. Her estranged husband Edwin Arroyave recently opened up about supporting her despite filing for divorce back in November.
Speaking on The Eds podcast, Arroyave told his co-host Eddie Judge about still wanting to be there for Teddi despite everything. “No matter what, I will always love Teddi and she’s been a big part of my life. And I like taking care of people, it’s just what I do.
“So it wasn’t even like, a question,” Edwin said. “The first thing is just making sure that we take care of this first.
“And all that other stuff — we’ll see what happens with time. But for right now, it’s just more of like, how do we take care of you? And how can we get you back to normal as fast as [possible]?”
Talking about the paused divorce proceedings, he said: “That other stuff will figure itself out.” He has also shared images of Teddi’s stunning magazine cover for US Weekly, where he gushed with pride about her.
“I’m endlessly proud of your resilience and courage,” he said. “The way you keep pushing forward, no matter the setback, is nothing short of inspiring.”
He added: “You show up every single day to face this battle head-on, and even on the hardest days, you still find a way to get things done. Your strength is remarkable — and so are you.”
The praise continued in another post, as he wrote: “Strong isn’t a big enough word to describe what a fighter @teddimellencamp is.” The couple share three children together, but they announced they were splitting in November, before she was diagnosed with cancer in February.
She was previously dealing with skin cancer back in 2022.
