“I want to ask for your support in this difficult moment. He was the victim of a very aggressive bacterium while he was on vacation, and this led him to be in an induced coma.”

While the exact nature of Manuel’s illness is still under wraps, his last check-in was in the Philippines, as per his Instagram post to his 160,000 followers a fortnight ago.

On April 2, an update on the GoFundMe page showed a heartfelt thank you to all the donors and provided the latest news on Manuel’s fight.

“Thank you very much to all those who have donated so far; your generosity and support are fundamental in these difficult times for Manuel and his loved ones,” the statement read.
