The White Lotus season three has sadly come to an end, but HBO fans are already asking questions about the next season – read on to check out all we know so far
The White Lotus has only just finished, but fans are already excited for the next season.
HBO and Max CEO Casey Bloys revealed back in November 2024 that the show’s director, writer and creator Mike White has already pitched ideas for the upcoming project.
Much to HBO viewers’ joy, Variety confirmed that The White Lotus will be returning for another season back in January 2025. Production is reportedly expected to begin in 2026, although no official release date has been confirmed.
As for the show’s location, no word yet but the show has been set in three Four Seasons hotels so far.
Season one saw the cast jet off to Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, Hawaii, followed by a trip to San Domenico Palace, Taormina, which is a Four Seasons hotel in Sicily, Italy.
Series three, which has pulled in huge ratings with episode seven hitting 4.8 million viewers, was filmed at the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui in Thailand.
HBO announced an official partnership with the luxury hotel chain ahead of the third season’s premiere, so its likely viewers could be returning to a Four Seasons property soon.
Rumours have been circulating the internet regarding the fourth season’s location. Some have theorised Norway could be the next destination, but the country doesn’t have a Four Seasons hotel and according to producer David Bernad, Mike White “does not like the cold”.
“I feel confident we’ll never do a season in the cold. Mike is not built for…he’s a California guy, he’s not built for the cold. Never say never, but I would be surprised.”
Other popular getaway ideas include Egypt or Mexico, although bosses have not confirmed anything so far.
Over on Reddit, fans of the show have been speculating what will happen next and one person even demanded an “all star season” in the future.
“I’d like to see Season 4 be a fresh start, but I’d eventually like to see an “All Star” season as Mike has talked about before (echoing his love of Survivor), with various characters from past seasons thrown in together. I think the show could reasonably go for six seasons.”
However, one doubtful fan chimed in with: “”I personally don’t see how they could have any meaningful storylines from now on. Their ending this season felt like a closure.”
“Belinda has the money to make her dream come true. Greg can now live the rest of his weird life with no one to rat him out, and even if someone else recognized him, he has enough money to perpetually buy people off and keep them quiet.”
