Celebrity Big Brother’s Michael Fabricant has been dealt a major blow hours after entering the house.

The controversial former politician made his way onto the ITV show after being confirmed for the line-up last week. Michael is now joined by the likes of Hollywood royalty Mickey Rourke and eighties music icon Chesney Hawkes, who admitted he would likely be seen naked around the house.

However, when Michael waltzed his way onto the set of Celebrity Big Brother, he was greeted not with cheers, but with major boos from the audience. This was only worsened when he gave a shoutout to all those who voted for the Conservative party back in the general election last July.

Since then, the star has made himself at home in the Big Brother house, getting to know his fellow housemates. However, on the outside, the former MP has been hit with a devastating blow when it comes to his chances of winning the competition outright.

According to online casino Betfred, Michael has the least chance of winning the show, as he currently sits at the bottom of the odds table. Currently, the odds of him winning are at a meagre 33/1, while former Love Island star Chris Hughes is sitting at the top, with bets being taken for a comfortable 3/1 stake.

Betfred’s Kayley Cornelius admitted that Michael’s campaign for victory could be more uphill than others. She explained: “Launch night of this year’s Celebrity Big Brother has dealt a major blow to former MP Michael Fabricant.

“Not only was he met with a sea of boos as he entered the house, but his chances of winning are now rapidly diminishing,” she continued. “While he entered with already unconvincing odds of 22/1, they’ve since lengthened to a damning 33/1.

“The next few days in the house will be pivotal for Michael,” Kayley warned. “If he fails to win over the public and his fellow housemates, we could very well be looking at the first evictee of the series.”

Michael is not the first political figure to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house, as former Rochdale MP George Galloway went into the house back in 2006. During his time on the show, George left viewers aghast when he fully committed to being a cat as part of a shopping task with Coronation Street legend Rula Lenska.

As well as this, former Tory and Brexit Party politician Ann Widdecombe also went into the house in 2018. Entering the show during the Year of the Woman series, Ann caused controversy when she made outlandish comments toward housemates Andrew Brady and Shane Jenek, also known as Courtney Act.

Many viewers branded her remarks as “homophobic” and called for the star to be removed from the house. However, she was able to make it all the way to the final, where she finished in second place behind ultimate victor Courtney.
