Celebrity Big Brother star Michael Fabricant has entered the ITV house and recently discussed his love life with his co-stars, revealing that he has been in an open relationship for many years
Celebrity Big Brother star Michael Fabricant opened up about his unique love life on the ITV reality show.
The former Conservative MP is openly bisexual and chatted with co-star and former Drag Race winner Danny Beard about his relationship status.
Fabricant explained that he’d been in a long-term relationship for 35 years and has continued some “deep friendships” during that time. The 74-year-old referenced his partner and implied they have an open relationship.
After Jojo Siwa asked if he was in a relationship, the former MP explained: “I’ve never been in the closet. It’s complicated.”
“I have someone who I have known for 35 years who’s 13 years younger than me, but I also have, and this is even more complicated, two friends and we all go on holiday separately with me or not.”
Danny simply asked whether he would “call that an open relationship” because “a lot of gay people like that and a lot of straight people don’t understand it”.
Fabricant said: “I would maybe say I’ve got very deep friendships. That would maybe be more tactful.”
Fans of the show took to social media to share their disbelief after hearing Michael’s unconventional relationship status. One person said: “Michael Fabricant has THREE boyfriends and I can’t even get one.”
Someone else asked “what is going on” after finding out “Michael Fabricant is in a polyamorous relationship”. Another viewer said that they “never saw that coming”.
“Just had to explain to my very traditional, vanilla Dad in layman’s terms what Michael was talking about regarding his ‘friendships’ and honestly I think I’ve taken about five years off his life,” joked another CBB viewer.
In the past, Michael has discussed his connection with former West Midlands mayor Andy Street and explained they are “very close” but “lead separate lives”.
While speaking to GB News back in 2021, Michael described the duo as “life partners”.
