Mickey Rourke has been axed from Celebrity Big Brother after making a series of vile comments, including a remark to Ella Rae Wise which was revealed on Sunday night’s episode
Celebrity Big Brother has been a rollercoaster after Hollywood star Mickey Rourke entered the house. The drama kicked off when ITV announced Mickey agreed to exit the house after he unleashed “threatening and aggressive” language.
Viewers were left gobsmacked by his homophobic slurs about JoJo Siwa, nasty fat-shaming remarks to Donna Preston and a dig about Patsy Palmer’s cooking which left her in tears.
Saturday brought news that Mickey had been chucked out of the house. A spokesperson said: “Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behaviour.”
Earlier in the week, after Love Island alum Chris Hughes stood up against Mickey’s homophobic comments to JoJo Siwa, Big Brother gave Mickey a telling-off, labelling his speech and actions as “threatening and aggressive”, reports the Mirror.
“Big Brother does not tolerate threatening language or behaviour,” they went on., spilling the tea on why he was given the boot.
Just days later, there was more – Big Brother gave Mickey a telling off for crude sexual “banter” towards Ella Rae Wise, which came to light during Sunday’s episode.
She said: “Come with me, Mickey,” and his eyebrow-raising response was: “Come in you?”
Later in the episode, during the task, Mickey squared up to Chris after the reality star gave him the side-eye as a joke. Mickey repeatedly called Chris a “c***” and alluded to burying him in the ground.
Big Brother eventually told Mickey: “This language has caused offence to your fellow housemates and could cause offence to the viewing public.
“This is not the first time Big Brother has had to speak to you about your offensive and inappropriate language.”
Mickey came back with: “Yes sir. I did wrong. I apologise. I’m sorry. I can’t take it back, you know, I stepped over the line. And I take responsibility for doing the wrong thing.
“‘Cause I lost my temper, and I’ve been trying to work on it my whole life and I wish I would have had better self-control and I’m very sorry. I’m ashamed of myself for losing it for a few seconds there.
“Nobody got touched or hurt. Maybe some feelings got hurt or maybe others have feelings about others getting upset but, you know, I’m sorry about that.”
Big Brother didn’t mince words after that: “Big Brother considers your language and behaviour today to be seriously unacceptable and as a result Big Brother has no option but to ask you to leave the Big Brother house. Mickey, is there anything else you’d like to say?”
He responded: “I blame myself, I know it was my bad. You know, I’ve got a short fuse and I know I upset a lot of people out there, you know. And I’m sorry for that. I’m actually ashamed of myself for getting that hot. I went over the line, you know, I did wrong. I guess, like they say, I’m a work in progress. I just wanna pack my bags and leave, you know. I wanted to leave yesterday actually but I wasn’t chosen.”
