Former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has revealed that she’s set to move house after living in a stunning eight-bedroom property in Bolton, Greater Manchester
Helen Flanagan is gearing up for a big move and has opened up about the mixed feelings she’s experiencing. The ex-Corrie star is all set for a “fresh break” but admits that “downsizing” has got her feeling a bit anxious.
The 34-year-old former Coronation Street actress, who recently split from her partner Scott Sinclair, with whom she shares three kids, is saying goodbye to her lavish Bolton home after four years.
Helen, who’s been lighting up screens on Celebs Go Dating, is contemplating a switch to the bustling city of London and discussed her moving plans on the Declutter Hub Podcast.
During the podcast, Helen shared: “It actually makes me sad that I’m gonna be leaving this house soon because I actually put so much effort into it.” She also confessed to investing a lot of her savings into making the house a beautiful home.
She acknowledged the size of her current abode, saying: “It’s an eight bedroomed house which is obviously really hard to keep on top of. I mean, I feel really lucky to to live here – well, soon to have lived here – because it is gorgeous but it’s a lot to like keep on top of.”, reports the Mirror.
The actress revealed that her current home offers more space than when she and Scott were renting as a family. Helen then shared her concerns about downsizing, saying: “I think I’m gonna struggle to… Obviously when I do [move] because obviously I will be downsizing so much.”
She confessed that, despite being “down to Earth” and not wanting to “sound a certain way,” she expects it will “feel weird” adjusting to a smaller property after being in her current home. However, she added: “Obviously, I will get used to it, I’m sure.”
Helen explained that downsizing will require her to part with many of her belongings, including her beautiful furniture, which was specifically designed for her current home. She acknowledged: “It won’t fit in my new house, y’know, which is fine.”
On the other hand, Helen believes that a smaller property will be more “manageable” for her. She shared: “I think it will be better for me, actually, to be honest with you, to live in a small house because I think it might be more manageable for me.”
At the time of the podcast recording, Helen hadn’t yet selected her new home and was considering a move to London, which would be “amazing for work” However, she was still undecided, weighing the pros and cons of commuting versus starting fresh in a new location. She said: “I don’t know if I’m best, because it’s not that far on the train, to just keep commuting.”
Helen then added: “But I kind of feel like I want a fresh break. I don’t know if I kind of want to stay in my hometown.”
The star, who’s been open about her mental health struggles and even chatted about hitting rock bottom financially not too long ago – admitting she “lost basically all [her] money” – hinted that she’s itching for “a change” after a rough patch.
She confessed: “I feel like I want like a change because, even though everything’s great now, it’s been a really kind of quite heavy few years for me.”
