Former child prodigy Haley Joel Osment has issued a heartfelt apology after he was arrested for public intoxication and used antisemitic slurs during the arrest earlier this month.

Speaking exclusively to The Post on Thursday, Osment, 37, expressed his remorse: “I’m absolutely horrified by my behavior. Had I known I used this disgraceful language in the throes of a blackout, I would have spoken up sooner.”

The Sixth Sense sensation admitted: “The past few months of loss and displacement have broken me down to a very low emotional place.”

The actor recently lost his house in the Altadena wildfire in January, which also wreaked havoc in Los Angeles and affected other stars like Joshua Jackson and Billy Crystal.

Insiders spilled to TMZ that the “Secondhand Lions” star had been having a rough time, having lost “everything” in the Altadena blaze and facing struggles with his insurance. After finally finding a “replacement” home, Osment was gutted to learn his insurer had knocked back his claim, the publication reported.

Continuing his statement to The Post, Osment said: “But that’s no excuse for using this disgusting word. From the bottom of my heart, I apologize to absolutely everyone that this hurts. What came out of my mouth was nonsensical garbage – I’ve let the Jewish community down and it devastates me.

“I don’t ask for anyone’s forgiveness, but I promise to atone for my terrible mistake.”

On April 8, Osment found himself in trouble with the law after being arrested for public intoxication and having a controlled substance at a California ski resort.

The actor was arrested in Mammoth Lakes, California, following a call just before 2 pm on that day about an allegedly drunken person at Mammoth Mountain resort.

Bodycam footage of his arrest, retrieved by The Post on Thursday, shows Osment lobbing an antisemitic insult and branding an officer a “Nazi.”

At one stage, he bellowed: “I’ve been kidnapped by a f****** Nazi.” He also insisted he was “being attacked” and accused the police of “torturing me.”

In the clip, Osment is overheard telling the police, “You’re f****** with my life.” He’s also captured on film warning the officers, “You’ll wish you treated me nicer,” followed by tossing another slur at one of them.

“I was decent to you and you, and you are a f******* ****,” Osment declared.

As he was hauled off to jail, the actor tossed a “Good luck” over his shoulder to the police officers. However, Osment was let go shortly after being taken in.

The district attorney decided to press charges: possession of cocaine and disorderly conduct under the influence of alcohol in public, according to TMZ.

The actor was handed down a sentence of three years probation, 60 hours of rehab, and six months of Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Speaking to The Post about his arrest, Osment referred to the incident as a “really, really serious lapse of judgment.”
