Celebrity Big Brother winner admits he turned down major shows as he’d ‘rather die’

EXCLUSIVE: Celebrity Big Brother winner David Potts has opened up about why he has turned down certain TV programmes since he found fame on ITV’s Ibiza Weekender

CBB winner David Potts has confessed which shows he’s given the thumbs down to since finding fame.

The 2024 winner wowed viewers with his humour last year and recently spoke to Daily Star in collaboration with Casino.org.

He revealed: “There have been a few I’ve turned down. They were all related to exes — Ex On The Beach, Eating With My Ex, and Dinner With My Ex.

“I just don’t think those shows really suit me. I used to watch them, and some of them can get argumentative. Plus, honestly, I don’t really want to sit down with an ex for dinner, you know? It’s just not my vibe.”

The main show that famous faces aim to tick off their TV bucket list is usually I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! – and David admitted that was probably off the cards too.

David answered: “Oh my god! [gasps] I would be the worst person to ever go in that jungle. Hands down. Worse than Gillian McKeith – I’d be absolutely petrified of everything. I wouldn’t sleep.

“There’s just no way I’d be able to relax knowing there are snakes only a few feet away. And when they wake up and there’s a spider just sitting on them? Oh my god. No. Just no. I’d die.

“But you know what? I’d do it for the weight loss. And maybe for the glowing skin. It would be a massive challenge for me, and I do love pushing myself. So I’d never say never… but I’d be absolutely petrified the whole time!”

In 2023, the Ibiza Weekender also took part in The Big Celebrity Detox which he branded “hell”.

He explained: “It was hell. It was absolutely wild. It was fun, I mean not all of it was fun. But it was just so fun because it was so different.

“I mean they’d never really done a show like that before, and by the looks of it they’re not doing it again because it was quite a few years ago now, and it’s not back on the screen. But it was such a wild experience.

“Doing so many things that I just would never expect to do again. All the purging, and flying people over from all over the world to share their experiences and culture with us.

“They had us doing these mad challenges, with our guide from LA, and then they’d flown some people out from the Amazon rainforest who had never been on a plane before.

“They’d never even seen a can of a coke! It was so wild. It definitely something I’d never forget, but it’s something I’d never do again!”
