EXCLUSIVE: Katie Price has landed a role in new horror spoof Jackie the Stripper but according to the director Michael Head, she was not initially meant to be cast in the film
Katie Price has landed a spot in upcoming movie Jackie the Stripper – but the story behind her securing the role will shock fans.
We sat down with talented director Michael Head, who has been putting the horror-comedy film together with a stellar cast, including Harry Potter stars and soap legends.
However, there was one other famous face who was lined up for the project – but unfortunately didn’t make the edit, as they passed away before filming – leaving a gap for Katie to make her acting debut.
Michael explained: “Paul Danan was supposed to be in the film – I was talking to him on the Monday and then I found out he passed away on the Wednesday. I was speaking to his agent as obviously he couldn’t be in the film, and she said ‘How about Katie Price?’
“I said there’s not a part for her, I’m already cast, but I said ‘Let me think about it’. But I went away and wrote her a part in, if she’s interested. She was absolutely fantastic. I knew she would nail it. I know how professional she is, and I knew she would be able to play this role. As a person she was great as well.
“She was so professional but she was hilarious, she’s unbelievably funny but also professional. if you look at her career, she was a model very pretty lady but how many other people are incredibly pretty? She’s had the career she’s had because she’s persistent, talented and got the drive.
When asked for his final verdict on her performance, he said: “What was she like on set? The ultimate pro.”
“She was always going to be, if she wasn’t she wouldn’t be Katie Price. She’s an icon.”
We also asked Michael to explain Katie’s role, Lisa, to us, so fans can get an insight into what she will be starring as on screen this Halloween.
Michael shared: “The idea is ever since the court was set up from Jack the Ripper’s day, there was an elected female who was the head assassin/boss. Now that gets passed on from person to person down the generations, and she was the ‘Jackie’ before the lead character, Lottie (played by Charlotte Kirk).
“At the end of the film, everything looks like it’s falling to pieces and Katie’s character, Lisa, is then called back to come and help. She was brilliant on set and played the role really well. It wasn’t the biggest of roles, but she absolutely nailed it. I think a few people will be surprised with the performance she gives.”
