TOWIE star Joe Blackman is having veneers and has been documenting the process on Instagram, but lots of fans reckon he had a great smile anyway and didn’t need it
TOWIE’s Joe Blackman has horrified fans with a video showing his teeth ground down to bloody-looking stumps as he prepares to get veneers.
The reality star has jetted off to Turkey with boyfriend Junaid Ahmed to get his smile done, and documented the journey in a video on Instagram. In the clip, Joe admitted he was “super scared” but said he was also “super, super excited” to have the procedure, which is costing him an eye-watering £7,664.
He then took viewers through the process, from getting into a robe and having X-rays to lying down in the dentist’s chair while they got to work grinding his teeth into little “pegs”.
“What have I done? Help me!” Joe joked in the caption. Showing all the grinding that went on, he said in his voiceover: “As you can see in my face I’m in disbelief at what’s going on!”
He went on: “They really do go in between each tooth and make them all like little pegs. But I knew it was going to happen so I can’t really complain about it.”
Revealing his newly filed down stumps, he quipped: “Look at me! Oh my God don’t I look sexy baby?”
Joe promised his followers that he’d be back to update them with a part 2, and lots of fans said they could not wait to see the results. However, others were a bit squeamish about the whole thing.
“Oh no,” one posted in the comments section, as another exclaimed: “This is barbaric.” “Looks painful Joe!” said someone else.
Another fan remarked: “Oh dear. I would be terrified.” “Did it hurt having them shaved?” asked another fan.
Many other people said they couldn’t see anything wrong with the TV star’s original smile. “Your teeth were absolutely fine,” one insisted, as others said he’d looked “great”.
Somebody else said: “You already have lovely teeth… it’s so nice to see a bloke with normal teeth… not a clone of everyone else.” “You had lovely teeth, and a beautiful natural smile!” said another fan.
Fellow TOWIE star Lauren Goodger was among those to chime in on the subject. “You didn’t need I regret doing! Like I regret all surgery!” she told the star. “But they will look stunning whatever makes you happy! I can’t wait to see end result xxx.”
